COMMISSIONS

"A photograph records a passing second; a hand-sculpted portrait bust commands an enduring presence—anchoring the depth of human character and personal legacy into physical form for generations to come."

More than a likeness

From an idea to a sculpture

You don't need to know exactly what you want before getting in touch.

We begin with a conversation about the person, the occasion and your ideas. Photographs and other references can provide the starting point for the portrait, making it possible to commission a sculpture even when the person cannot sit for me in person.

I then develop the portrait by hand in clay, paying attention to both likeness and character.

After the portrait has been modeled in clay, it will be cast in bronze or white plaster, or directely carved in wood.

THE PRIVATE COMMISSION JOURNEY

Step 1: Spatial & Aesthetic Consultation

We begin by evaluating the ultimate setting for the sculpture (e.g., a mahogany home library, a well-lit corporate boardroom, or a modern penthouse entryway). Together, we determine the ideal material patina, posture, and scale to ensure the portrait bust perfectly complements your architecture.

Step 2: Reference & Discretion Protocols

To accommodate our global clientele, sittings can take place live at the studio in Vienna, or the sculpture can be executed entirely from high-resolution contemporary or archival photographs. Absolute discretion is maintained throughout the process, allowing for flexible and private commissions.

Step 3: The Clay Master Approval

Before the artwork is permanently cast into its final premium medium, a digital gallery or a private viewing of the raw clay master sculpture is provided. This allows the patron to review and approve the character, expression, and precise likeness of the subject.

Step 4: Archival Materials & Logistics

Once approved, the portrait is cast using traditional artisanal methods in your chosen material tier (Classical Terracotta, Architectural Plaster, or Museum-Grade Lost-Wax Bronze). The studio coordinates specialized museum-grade crating and fully insured white-glove transport directly to your global address.
